Vacation Intern Program
|
|
The ‘Vacation Intern Program’ (VIP) invites family members of Lend Lease employees who are studying at university to join Lend Lease for a summer internship. Children, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, spouses and parents of permanent employees are eligible. Interns spend around six weeks working on various projects around the business.
This annual program gives families of employees the opportunity to develop their professional and inter-personal skills, and Lend Lease benefits from fresh and innovative thinking often brought to the business by enthusiastic students.
Scott Dane is 20 years old and studying for a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Commerce at Sydney University. Scott took part in the Vacation Intern Program in December 2009/January 2010 in Sydney.
Scott’s grandfather Edward Ward joined Civil & Civic (to later become Lend Lease) in 1956, and worked for Lend Lease for 35 years on a number of Lend Lease’s iconic projects including Caltex House and MLC Centre. Scott’s uncle, Peter Ward, began as an apprentice for Civil & Civic in 1981, and continues to work for Lend Lease in Queensland. Scott is hoping to one day become a 3rd generation full time employee.
During his 09/10 summer internship with Lend Lease, Scott Dane worked in construction management on the Darling Walk project…

“The Vacation Intern Program gave me an invaluable and in-depth experience, with an industry I want to build a career in. And I have learnt how to thrive in an onsite environment, through taking every chance to show that I am willing to learn and help where I can.” |
