Stock Exchange Announcement Regarding Mr Peter Willcox
Peter Willcox advised the Lend Lease Board today that he no longer wishes to take over as Chairman from Stuart Hornery at the November 2000 Annual General Meeting.
In August 1998 Lend Lease announced that the Board had elected Peter Willcox and Jill Ker Conway as Deputy Chairs, with Peter to be appointed Chairman upon the retirement of Stuart Hornery at the November 2000 Annual General Meeting.
Since then Lend Lease has expanded its overseas business significantly, increasing the time and travel commitments involved in the role of Chairman.
Peter lives in Melbourne and has a young family. He has decided that his personal commitments will not allow him to take over as Chairman. This has been a difficult decision for Peter because he has made a significant commitment to preparing himself for the chairmanship.
Peter will remain as Deputy Chairman at least until a decision on the appointment of the new Chairman is made.
