$70,000 raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation
Since 17 November, Lend Lease managed Shopping Centres around Australia have been supporting the Starlight Children Foundation, so far raising $70,000 to grant the wishes of seriously ill children.

To commemorate this milestone, Lend Lease Retail CEO, Murray Bell, will be presenting Starlight with a cheque on Monday 17 December in the Starlight Express Room at The Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.

The cheque will be presented at a special Christmas Party in the Starlight room, commencing at 9:30am. Entertainment includes a special Christmas performance and a visit by Starman, as well as a special visit from Santa Claus and other fun characters.

Since commencing the fundraising campaign customers have purchased over 2000 star wands, 2500 key rings, and 3000 wristbands from Customer Service Desks and Santa photo sets throughout Australia.

Jill Weekes, Starlight CEO, is overwhelmed by the support given thus far by the Shopping Centres managed by Lend Lease Retail that participated in the Christmas fundraising initiative.

"It just goes to show that lots of contributions can make the biggest difference. With a National Charity like Starlight, our reach is relatively broad. An association with a company like Lend Lease means that the reach of support is equally as broad. Many thanks to everybody who helped," said Jill.

All customers who donated to Starlight, either by purchasing merchandise or making a deposit at the Wishing Wells, were given the opportunity to go into the draw to win one of three $500 shopping sprees at each shopping centre. The winners at will be drawn on Christmas Eve.

Murray Bell would like to once again thank the community for their contribution.

"It is great to have witnessed the Christmas Spirit shine at all our shopping centres. Our customers and retailers are doing wonderfully well at making wishes come true, and on behalf of the Centre Management team I would like to thank them all for their tremendous level of support.

We will continue to collect donations up until Christmas Eve and we look forward to presenting Starlight with another cheque over the next few weeks."
