Millers Point Youth and Employment Partnership Wins Australian Prime Minister’s Community Business Partnership Award for Excellence in Large Business Category
The Millers Point Youth and Employment Partnership has won the Prime Minister’s 2005 Community Business Partnership Award for Excellence in Australia in the Large Business Category.

Lend Lease led the establishment of the Partnership when it relocated its head office to Millers Point, and was the catalyst for its formation. Lend Lease now chairs the Partnership.

“Lend Lease is in the business of building places where people want to live and work, so community engagement is part of our culture. Building a corporate headquarters in an inner-city area was a good opportunity to show our commitment to community collaboration,” said Ms Adrien Meredith from Lend Lease, who accepted the award on behalf of the Partnership.

The Prime Minister’s Community Business Partnership is a group of business and community leaders appointed by the Prime Minister to advise the Australian Government on community business collaboration, philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.

The Awards started in 1999 and recognise those businesses and community groups which come together to generate long-term benefits for their local area.

The MYE Partnership

The Millers Point Youth and Employment Partnership focuses on youth and employment in Millers Point, Sydney, and is a working example of public/private collaboration between 13 organisations in a community.

The Partnership operates on the premise that communities are stronger when individuals, community groups, government and businesses work together to achieve social outcomes.

The Partnership includes groups that often have no interaction; for instance, large companies, education, community services and community groups.
