Bovis Lend Lease selected as preferred bidder for London schools project
Lend Lease today announced that its subsidiary, Bovis Lend Lease, has been selected as preferred partner by Wandsworth Borough Council to deliver the Building Schools for the Future (“BSF”) initiative for the Borough’s secondary schools.
This announcement marks an important step in establishing a Local Education Partnership between Bovis Lend Lease and Wandsworth Borough Council.
Mr Steve McCann, Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Lend Lease said: “We are very pleased to be selected as the Council’s preferred bidder for this project. We look forward to delivering these new schools which will play an important part in increasing educational opportunities in the Wandsworth Borough and continues our Public Private Partnership delivery in the UK.”
Wandsworth Borough Council and Bovis Lend Lease are aiming to achieve financial close of the BSF contract by January 2011, with plans to start construction of the first two secondary schools valued at £70 million (circa A$122 million) immediately thereafter.
